The family had the great pleasure of trying out the 'Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife' last week at Singapore Zoo. We are regulars to the Zoo but that visit marked the first time that our family had breakfast at Ah Meng Restaurant. Many, including myself, may have the highly romanticized idea of having a leisurely breakfast with one of the very intelligent orangutans sitting across the table. Breakfast was definitely leisurely but although the primates were perched on some platform nearby, it was not exactly a meal together with our close 'relatives'.
The intercontinental buffet breakfast operates from 9am - 10.30am and features your regular sausages and omelettes on top of asian delights such as dim sum etc. Check out the full buffet menu here. At $35 per pax, it was a price range to be expected at most places of interest, but any kid below 6 years old do dine free with each paying adult. As part of the package, a family of friendly orangutans were invited to have their breakfast nearby as well and diners get to take photos with them in between filling up their own tummies. Steffi got to play with a ball python while waiting for our turns for the photograph too. The kiddos were so happy to find Froot Loops, as the buffet spread now includes a range of breakfast cereals from Kellogg's as well, and they preferred that over the other food available! It was all thanks to Kellogg's, that we got to enjoy the special breakfast at the Zoo, as well as a full day of fun at the park. And the reason we were there, was because the company had just adopted the entire Primate Kingdom and had invited all of us over for the celebrations!
A fun booth was set up on that day, where the kiddos got to play games such as cup stacking and spot the differences for Kellogg's prizes! I am pretty sure no one in the Zoo went hungry or thirsty that day as the staff were busy doling out cups after cups of cereals, both with or without milk to all the visitors present. Thank you so much for having us over for the amazing day!
