Why Use Induction Hob?

We had been using normal gas hob with piped gas for over a decade before we had our renovations. We do not cook ourselves, except for the really occasional instant noodles or simple omelette and the hob was mostly used by our helper instead. I can still remember having to remind her on a few occasions to turn the fire off after smelling burnt food, or even gas when the flame got blown off. Kind of scary when we recall now. So now that we are using induction hob, let us tell you why it is good.

Learning what are the right crockeries to use for our new hob.

No Open Flame

This would be the most obvious reason. One may have kids running around the house, or open windows that may cause a flame to get blown out, or even gas leakage. Relying on electricity, an induction hob would undoubtedly be much safer to use for cooking as compared to open fire cooking.

Built-in Safety Features

Most induction hobs would have safety features such as auto power cut-off should it overheat. I have not heard of gas hobs turning off gas automatically though. So yup, its obviously better in that sense. Also, the Brandt Induction Hob (BPI6230BL) with 2-Zone cooking that we are using now, comes with child lock, pan detection ensuring only the right cooking wares are used and residual heat indicators so that you know when the surface is hot even after cooking!

So sleek... All touch control and there is also a child-lock function.

Cleaning / Aesthetics

It looks just like a piece of glass over your kitchen counter and you only need to clean it like what you do with a piece of glass! Just some glass cleaning solution and it would look as good as new! Imagine how much cleaning you need to do to get your gas hob looking clean?

These days, you can probably get a decent portable Chine-made induction cooker for a steal but it can never be compared to the well-engineered Brandt induction hob that sits perfectly flushed on your kitchen top. Looks, functionality and safety are all taken care off.

Definitely looking much cooler than my old gas hob and so much easier to maintain!
