Orchid Bowl @ SAFRA Punggol

I know that my two older kiddos likes to bowl for fun, and we have brought them to bowl a couple of times. Not all the lanes in Singapore bowling centres are equipped with bumpers though, so one must check before making the kiddos cry with their every ball going into the drain.

Last week, we headed over to Punggol SAFRA to try out the latest bowling centre to open in Singapore, the sprawling new 24-lane, over 22,000sq ft Orchid Bowl for the first time. 

So whats new? 

Scoring:

Of course besides the fact the centre is brand new, this new place is also the first in Singapore to use the QubicaAMF BES X Scoing and Management System! Sounds a mouthful right? You can find more information over here. But just take it from us, it makes bowling and scoring absolutely fun!

YouToons - For one, you can snap your own photo on the new SuperTouch LCD bowler console with its built-in camera and have yourself incorporated into scoring animations etc. Sure to bring a smile to the kiddos and young at heart.

Mad Games - You know how kiddos can be so competitive and get so upset whenever they loses? Also, it is sometimes hard to keep them entertained, engaged and interested throughout a full bowling game. With this new feature, the games are shorter and players only have one go at the pins each time, but the games and cool animations kept the kiddos intrigued and happy!

Facebook GameConnect - Well, you can also do a "Like" or "Check In" via the bowler console but I think the coolest must be the Lane Chatter. Fancy a hunk or beauty bowling a couple of feets away from you but too shy to approach? Now you can drop them a message via the console and hope that they take notice and reply you! 

Bumper Lane:

All the 24 lanes are equipped with automatic bumpers and different player on the same lane can choose whether to have them on for their games or not. Steady right? Great for the entire family!

Pricing:

It is the only centre under Orchid Bowl to completely charge the games by the hour. Which has its pros and cons for customers like you and I. Now I cannot bowl as leisurely as before because time = money, but I would also expect to be able to play faster as there will no longer be lane hoggers right? You cannot have it all.
