Woohoo! The kiddos were all excited to be back to Hotel Jen Orchardgateway after our previous staycation and were all asking to get back to the pool that remember so well! But nope, we're back this time for some downright awesome local food instead. For me, I can NEVER forget the buffet spread, and of course the desserts.

The satay was really sedap! Nice and tender! |
The hotel had set up live cooking stations that serves up piping hot local delights such as Chicken Satay, Oyster Omelette and even Hokkien Mee on the terrace of Makan @ Jen. For $42++, expect much more food, oh glorious food such as Herbal Chicken, Bak Kut Teh, Hainanese Chicken Rice and whole lot of not so local food. The staples such as crustaceans, sashimi and salad bars will still be served.
|
Local drinks like bandung, lemon barley, calamansi and iced milo! |
|
I used to bring my own eggs for the uncle at the hawker centre to add into my food. Now, you can just ask for as many eggs as you want! Unfortunately the oyster omelette wasn't to my liking. |
|
Hokkien Mee on demand. |
|
There was a live demonstration of Laksa Fried Rice using the hotel's secret recipe for everyone present. |

Looking very happy with his dish. But not because he loves to eat it. The Laksa Fried rice was nice though and the extra gravy that came with it was fragrant indeed! |
Fancy some Kaya Toast over coffee? Or perhaps a wide selection of Nonya Kueh to end the day? I would choose the Durian BuBur Cha Cha though! The various food mentioned will be more than enough to whet up anyone's appetite, and the bane of every buffet lover, would have to be the limited "storage" space at the waist. Just taking a bit of some of the food mentioned above, already filled me up to the brim!
The Singapore's Hawker Promotion is available for dinner at Level 10 Makan @ Jen from 6.30pm - 10.00pm on Mondays - Thursdays for July and Aug only! All you can eat at $42++. For bookings, call +65 6708 8899 or email taste@hoteljen.com
